Alyssa Miserendino is an international portrait photographer, educator & interior design consultant. In addition to her commercial portrait work, she creates documentary & conceptual photographic bodies of work, including Our World Insideout, FYNR, and Nowhere.
Driven by synchronicity, Alyssa meets her clients & other collaborative artists on planes, through daily routine encounters, & through the stories we share with one another. Her eye is informed by the study of architecture, traveling as far as France to study at Vitra’s Boisbuchet & as far as Santa Barbara, California to study with a residential green architect. Her study of music fosters a rhythm of comfort with her subjects while on location or on set. She is honored to tell the visual stories of us, with the belief we are all connected & we should all be celebrated.
From a fellowship award from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, to an investigative journalism grant from the Driehaus Foundation, Alyssa continues to pursue personal bodies of work that assemble the ideas of home, memory & our relationships to one another emotionally. This work, in addition to her commercial work, has been recognized by international photographic juries & published in magazines & books.
